What are the benefits of hypnotherapy?

Once these stressful-traumatic experiences have been unearthed and we have got to the heart of the matter these can be therapeutically dealt with, and you can expect to be free from unwanted feelings, emotions and behaviours. These successful creative methods have helped many people bring about what seems to be miraculous life changing results and to be able to enjoy a long lasting resolution that remains with them for the rest of their lives. It is however essential to be fully committed to a short course of therapy.

Before treating my clients I submitted myself to an intensive course of analytical hypnotherapy, also known as hypno-analysis so that I could experience at first hand what my clients would experience and clear out my personal baggage. I understand that it can take a lot of courage to take that first step towards telling a stranger about your past and current experiences.

What is hypnotherapy with psychotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the application of  visualisation and relaxation techniques which are combined with psychotherapeutic treatment strategies. I am qualified in both clinical and advanced analytical hypnotherapy, which means that I am able to use a blend of approaches so that your therapy session is unique and tailored to your needs. Most hypnotherapists offer suggestion or solution focussed hypnotherapy and this is commonly presented as a “quick fix”.  This can be effective for issues where there are no underlying distressing emotional or psychological issues. However analytical hypnotherapy is a powerful combination of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy and I never cease to be amazed by how effective this form of treatment is.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring altered state which encourages heightened concentration and focus, allowing access to the powerful and influential subconscious mind.  Our mind controls our behaviour and understanding of the world, so by working with the subconscious mind a hypnotherapist can help you to make rapid positive changes which will improve your life.

Analytical hypnotherapy

If you have an unexplained symptom or pattern of behaviour that you just cannot control, there could be a hidden reason for that problem locked away somewhere in your mind. When a person experiences some kind of emotional trauma, the human mind often tries to blot out the unacceptable memory.  Although the memory has been repressed it still has the power to affect you on a subconscious level, but once the root cause of the presenting symptom has been discovered and therapeutically dealt with, you will gain insight and understanding and can expect to be free of any unwanted symptoms and to enjoy lasting change.
